Halle Mae Smith

Halle Mae Smith was born on November 7th. She has been an absolute joy! We had a scheduled c-section schedules which was really nice. I loved being able to walk in fill out some paper work and then have the surgery. No worrying about when I would go into labor. The surgery went extremely well and she was born healthy and strong weighing in at 7.olbs. She seems so small and makes it really had to image just how small the twins were. The boys are doing really good with her and love to give her kisses. Also if they ever see her binky the are determined that she needs to have it. I am recovering well after a bad reaction to some pain medicine after the surgery and one other little set back I finally am starting to feel back to normal. Here are some pictures of Halle with us and with her brothers.

Jackson absolutely loves babies and always wants to see Halle and give her kisses. Here we were giving Halle some tummy time and Jackson decided to join her.

Preston loves Halle, though at the hospital a balloon was a little more interesting to him.

2nd Birthday!

The boys turned 2 on the 17th. I can't believe they are already 2 years old. It seems that just yesterday we found out that we were pregnant. What wonderful miracle babies they are! For their birthday we took they to the state fair planning on seeing the Caillou exhibit. Caillou is basically the only show that I let them watch besides the movie Cars. But when we got there we found out that the exhibit was cancelled that day. Oh well. We still had fun seeing the animals. After the fair we went with Grandma and Grandpa to Mary Coyles, a fun ice cream parlor that Eric's family has been going to forever! The boys loved their ice cream. The next day we had a birthday party for them with Eric's family. The boys were definitely spoiled.

It's a Girl!

For those of you that have not heard we are expecting! We are so excited! On Thursday we found out that we are going to have a girl. I use to only want boys but since my 13 week ultrasound when they told me they thought we might be having a girl I have been looking at a lot of girl items and have gotten really excited! It could be interesting with the boys, although they love babies, and always want to see them. I will be 20 weeks on Thursday and we are due November 20th.

Idaho Fun!

It's been a really long time since I've posted anything. What can I say, twins keep you busy. We've been having a wonderful summer so far starting with a three week vacation to Idaho. It was wonderful! The weather was still a little cool, but nothing pants and a sweatshirt can't solve. The boys had a blast! My parents have a huge lawn in which they could run around, 4-wheelers and tractors they could ride, and plenty of cousins close.

One of the reasons that we choose this May to go up is because my cousin got married. While my sister, my mom, and I went to the wedding the boys stayed home with Eric and Grandpa. They had a real boys day. I received a call from Eric on the way home saying that they had to have a midday bath, and this is why. Apparently the boys discovered grandma's empty flower pots that she hadn't planted anything in yet. This was the outcome.

The boys loved to watch Grandpa on the tractor and even got to ride in it with him. They thought it was pretty cool!

Preston and Jackson love animals. While in Carey we went to my Aunts house to see her horses as well as their lamb. The boys keep saying "Horse" and "Neigh" the whole time we were there and were upset when we had to leave. I can't wait to go back up in August during the County Fair so that they can see lots of animals other than in books.

I mentioned that we went on 4-wheeler rides. A LOT!! We had to pry Preston off every time it was time to go in, and Jackson would say "Whoa" the whole time. The moment we took them off they would try and climb right back on. They loved them!!
Whenever we are in Idaho we try and see Eric's brother Doug and his family. This time when we went to see them we went on a bike ride with them and some of their friends. It was so much fun. We rode along the Boise River to a park and had a picnic. The ride was just right so that the bigger kids could ride their own bikes. Eric had fun racing some of them along the path, although he was at a disadvantage because he was pulling the boys in a trailer. The park where we had the picnic was right next to where water comes out of the reservoir into the river. It was pretty impressive!

My boys love the water and we could only get Preston to eat his lunch as long as we sat right by the river.

Nursery Here We Come

Eric and I have hit a major milestone at church. Our boys are finally in nursery. It is wonderful!! The first couple of weeks were a bit of a struggle, but they have finally adjusted. One of the problems was that nursery is right in the middle of naptime and our boys were exhausted and therefore emotional.

Here is a picture of the boys on their first day of nursery.

This is five minutes later, as you can tell they were extremely tired!!

Grandpa's Boots

We enjoyed a wonderful visit from my parents in March. The boys love them and are never short on being entertained. It is a well known fact that my dad wears cowboy boots a good portion of the time. Well, Preston and Jackson love shoes and are always trying to put them on their feet or on ours. One afternoon they found Grandpas boots and were trying really hard to step into them so I finally helped them out.

Grandma's 90th

After I ran in my Half Marathon we jumped in the car and drove to Estes Park just north of Denver for Eric's grandmas 90th birthday party. We had two huge houses rented for Eric's family and extended family. Because of the race we missed the actual birthday party but we still had the opportunity to spend the rest of the weekend with her and the rest of the family. Eric's cousins are great organizers and always think of everything. Grandma really enjoyed the weekend. She is an amazing lady and great example to all of us.

Good Times

In March I had the opportunity to run in the Canyonlands Half Marathon in Moab for the second year in a row with my sister. It was a blast! The adrenaline that runs through you is amazing! This year my brother-in-law ran with us and I'm happy to say we all finished on our own two feet and not on a cart. I was exhausted at the end but it was great to be able to get high fives from my boys at the finish line.

Little Climbers

The boys have recently discovered the joy of climbing. They climb up and stand on anything they can. Yesterday we found Preston standing up on the computer desk. Their favorite place to climb though is up on the couch and run back and forth which is fun and scary at the same time because with two of them running back and forth one sometimes gets bumped off. Good thing they are tough!

We finally had some family pictures taken in January. We haven't had any taken since the boys were born.
